Solar Powered House Numbers Make It Easier to Find Residences at Night

It’s not going to do anything to lower our electric bill, but we set up solar powered house numbers this week. The panels absorb ultraviolet light all day and then light up at night so people can see the numbers. Maybe this will be a first step toward getting some solar equipment that actually would lower our electric bill, such as equipment that could heat our water. I don’t know how long it would take before that sort of thing would pay off, however.

Our house number is five numbers long, so we needed to buy five separate panels, just as people must do when they buy any regular house number identifiers. These panels cost more than the regular numbers do, though. It’s kind of funny to think that people with house numbers that are only two or three numbers long get by more cheaply.

Yesterday my Mom came over at night, and she said the solar powered house numbers were very easy to read. Of course, she can find our house without the numbers, and we are still waiting for a time when someone arrives who is not familiar with our area. A delivery person sometimes stops by when it’s dark out, for instance. The solar numbers should help.

My Friend is Going Back to School for Medical Aesthetics Training

One of my best friends has decided to go back to school for medical aesthetics training. She has her certification in beauty school and has been cutting hair and doing manicures for the last ten years. The economy and her being unable to get clients for her salon business has made her decide to rethink her career. She recently announced that she was going to go back to school to get her certification to be a medical aesthetician. I was completely surprised by this decision because I thought she was doing very well in her salon business.

My friend will be taking her medical aesthetics training classes at one of the local colleges. It should take her a little over a year to complete the program. After her program is finished she plans to do an internship for a few months and then start interviewing for a job at a medical spa. She has always done really well in school, getting high grades in her classes. She should not have a problem keeping her grades up to get a good job offer after her program is completed. I am kind of jealous that she gets such good grades in college. When I was in college I only was able to get average grades.

Thinking about Pools Charlotte NC

My husband grew up in North Carolina, where everyone had pools. He said it’s because it gets so hot that the only thing that can cool you down is by getting into a pool. Living in North Carolina has taught me how much humidity can play with the extremity of the heat. We have started looking at pools Charlotte NC because my husband insists that we get one. I think he was part fish when he was born because he prefers to spend his extra time in the water. I think the kids would really enjoy having a pool as well.

We have a pretty large backyard, but I don’t know what kind of pool would be best to get. A lot of my neighbors have stand up pools Charlotte NC. I will probably have to find out if the ground is able to handle a pool or not. I think someone told me once that if the water table is too high, then a pool would not be able to be put in. I do have one neighbor who brought in dirt to raise the pool area. I may not worry about it and just get a standing pool. But it could still take some time to decide on which one to get.
